Every Day Is Christmas!

A true story for Christmas Day, told me by Sister of a close friend of hers, C, who is also a professional speaker. For C, every day is Christmas. He has a house decorated for Christmas thoughout the year, and makes it available to underprivileged kids for holidays & breaks. In this holiday house, every day is Christmas. The project reflects his faith, and is a practical expression of it. C was diagnosed with terminal cancer and, the clock ticking, he arranged a farewell party for friends at which he would say goodbye.

There is no tragedy in a life well lived that runs its course; although for friends and family, there is loss. But, knowing ahead of time, we can prepare for our flying away in proper order: this is a blessing.

So, C held his farewell party, which became a surprise party: the terminal cancer had gone into remission & C was given the all clear. How can this possibly be?

For me, this is easily explained: where there is faith, all the rules change. Beliefs are multiple, faith is singular, whichever the Messenger. It is easy to scoff at an explanation as simple as this, even damn it as simplistic. No doubt, this viewpoint is also true. And yet, faith is simple. And, for at least one man, one might say that where there is faith, every day is Christmas.
